[027] OOM - Meet the Parents
As every good traveler knows, there must be a destination for which to head towards - otherwise, there is aimless wandering which makes for wasted time, wasted resources, and a more or less miserable time.
But as any good observer knows, Tristran and Yvaine do not follow rules whatsoever.
So the two companions - still terribly (and pathetically) in love - are doing exactly what good travelers do not: they are wandering aimlessly, wasting time and resources. Whether they are having a miserable time remains to be seen, though it is unlikely that they are even able to follow that part of the rule, anyway.
"You know," Tristran starts thoughtfully, turning to glance at the star, "it has come to my attention that you haven't met my family yet."
Why this thought suddenly springs up in the young man's mind is a mystery, but now that it has taken precedence in the forefront of his thoughts, he believes it important not to let it go.
"Before we left, I told my father about you," he continues. "And I am positive that my mother - my other mother - and my sister want to meet you too. What do you think?"

"Outlaw them?" she offers hopefully.
There have to be some benefits of being royalty, don't there?
no subject
"I have a feeling you are going to make a superb queen," he says.
(Which, you know, implies proposals and marriage and...babies! Y/Y?)
no subject
"You really think so?"
She's joking.
Mostly.

He cranes his neck a bit to press a quick kiss to her head.
"You'll be a better queen than I would be as a king," he offers.
Unfortunately, that isn't very much in the way of reassuring.
Oh, well.

It'll be fine.
His mother will figure out her mistake and they'll just be on their merry way.

"You'll be able to set me straight," he tells her. "And that's the most important thing, I think.
"Of course, we won't have to think about that for a while, as I have no plans right now to be a king of any sort."
no subject
She tugs his fingers, reaches up with her free hand to pat his shoulder in mock-sympathy.
"A while and then some - do you even realize how long you've signed up to be stuck with me, Prince Charming?"
no subject
"Because I must admit: it won't be long enough, Yvaine."
no subject
"Ridiculous," she agrees, leaning back down to press a kiss to his cheek. "But sweet."
A laugh, and another quick kiss, "Misguided, but terribly sweet."
