Who is he?
      Tristran Thorn is a half-mortal, half-faerie (though he doesn't quite know it yet) young man shy of twenty (around 18), a little bit of a reject in the small fictional village of Wall (located somewhere in fictional England) and a bit of a dreamer. Tristran fell in love with a girl, Victoria Forester, said to be much too pretty and much too good for him.

      In an effort to send him away from her, Victoria asked that Tristran catch for her the falling star they saw together one evening as a way to prove himself to her. In exchange for this fallen star, she promised to give him whatever his heart desired.

      Blinded by love for his grey-eyed lady, Tristran remained ignorant that his task was a dangerous one and like all fairy-tale heroes, embarked on a perilous quest with nothing but the clothes on his back and the love and determination for his lady. This journey had taken him into the land of Faerie, outside of Wall, and outside of everything he's ever known.

And that was where he found Yvaine.

What is he like?
      Tristran has no particularly outstanding external features that would set him apart from the rest of the village except for one thing. His right ear is pressed against his head and is only very slightly pointed, a bit like an elf's, but barely noticeable. He has unkempt sodden-straw coloured brown hair and brown eyes, a plain look which he inherited from his father.

      He was a little shy, a little hesitant, and somewhat naiive. He is still all that, but now he is braver and a little more experienced. Friendly, loyal, and approachable, Tristran is ever a character intent on following his heart and bears no ill intentions.

      As of August 2007, Tristran has finished canon, and is now happily with Yvaine. He can wield a sword far better than he used to, and has a reputation for being something of a hero. In addition, he is now the last king of Stormhold, though he isn't particularly ruling it just yet (he's letting his mother take the reigns for a bit while he experiences life).
